PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION

God our Redeemer, you promise deliverance to those who love you.
Open our eyes to see, our ears to hear, our minds to comprehend,
and our spirits to encounter the revelation you have for us this day.
Transform us with the truth of your love and grace,
in the name of the one who loved us and gave his life for us. Amen.

Psalm 91:1-6, 14-16

91:1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,
91:2 will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust."
91:3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence;
91:4 he will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
91:5 You will not fear the terror of the night, or the arrow that flies by day,
91:6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
91:14 Those who love me, I will deliver; I will protect those who know my name.
91:15 When they call to me, I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble, I will rescue them and honor them.
91:16 With long life I will satisfy them, and show them my salvation.

DAILY READINGS

ABUNDANT HEALTH

A Study in Failure
Even if good people fall seven times, they will get back up. Proverbs 24:16 (CEV)

We usually think of failure as a negative experience. But wise people know how to take advantage of failure. They learn from it. They make the most of it. They use it as an education. Instead of becoming a victim of your failures, study them just as a scientist would do. Be curious, and turn bad days into good data.

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

Giver of all good gifts, You have trusted us to be stewards and managers of things that are ultimately yours, and we pray as we dedicate these offerings that you will find us faithful in our keeping and stewardship. We pray in the name of Jesus, our Rock and our Redeemer. Amen. (Jeremiah 32:1-3a, 6-15)
