Online Ministry 11/16 - 11/22/2020

PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION

Tender, comforting Shepherd, your steadfast love is present in this place and resides within each of us. Guide us to open ourselves to your unconditional love. When we feel like scattered sheep, frightened and alone. Help us know your loving presence as we live as your gathered community. Amen.

Psalm 100

100:1 Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth.
100:2 Worship the LORD with gladness; come into his presence with singing.
100:3 Know that the LORD is God. It is he that made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
100:4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.
100:5 For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

DAILY READINGS

Note: For the readings after Pentecost: the first reading pairs with the semi-continuous strand of texts; the second, with the complementary.

ABUNDANT HEALTH

Self-reflection is an important part of mental health – and these prompts help guide the mind to positive thoughts to make the people happy. This can be practiced at home over normal conversations or through journaling. Making reflection a part of everyday life can help to improve mood.

Begin a journal and each day of the week, answer this question:
11. Is it more important to love or be loved?

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

God of mercy and compassion, what is the offering that pleases you most? Certainly, not the token gift that makes us feel we done all that is required, but a gift that reminds us that need is all around us, and compassion and love are needed desperately and can be given extravagantly. May the gifts we give through your church help the hungry, thirsty, the imprisoned; but may our whole being be centered on seeing the opportunities to personally make your love real to a hurting world. Amen. (Matthew 25:31-46)
