Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as the Scriptures are read and your Word is proclaimed,
we may hear with joy what you say to us today.
Amen.

Faith Offers Hope (Lamentations 3:21–24)
What is faith? Sometimes faith can almost be palpable. Faith drains the guilt that oppresses. Faith replaces despondency with hope. Faith infuses with new direction and purpose. Faith unlocks heaven. Faith is like cool water soaking parched souls.Taken from The Case for Christ Study Bible©2014 HarperCollins Christian Publishing
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
God of majesty, we praise you, for you are the king of the universe. You
have conquered sin and death through the cross and resurrection of
Jesus, your Son. Now he reigns with you on high. We are grateful that
your kingdom abounds in forgiveness, righteousness, and peace. May
Christ reign in our hearts, and may we may share his generous love with
others. In joy, we offer our time, talents, and treasure to witness to
your kingdom as we await the return of Christ in glory. Amen. (Luke 23:33-43)
