PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
Like an oasis in the desert, worship satisfies our souls. Today, help us find the good in this life by delighting in your presence, and help us find the hope you have placed in our innermost selves. Amen.
Psalm 145:8-14
145:8 The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
145:9 The LORD is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made.
145:10 All your works shall give thanks to you, O LORD, and all your faithful shall bless you.
145:11 They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom, and tell of your power,
145:12 to make known to all people your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
145:13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. The LORD is faithful in all his words, and gracious in all his deeds.
145:14 The LORD upholds all who are falling, and raises up all who are bowed down.

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
God of wisdom and all good gifts: We bring our tithes and offerings to your altar, remembering that, like Abraham, you have blessed us to be a blessing to others. Remind us that the gift of freedom that comes to Christ is also a gift not to be kept but to be shared. Even as the world asserts that freedom is a ticket to “go our own way,” you made us free to be part of Christ’s body in the world, connected and interdependent. May the way we live and the way we give reflect that kind of freedom. In Christ’s blessed name, we pray. Amen. (Galatians 5:1, 13-26)
