PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION

Lord, your word forms a strong foundation on which to build our lives. Like a sower, you have planted your truth and your law of love in our very souls. Find us faithful, O God, that we may take what we have learned and grow to know you. Amen.

Psalm 100

100:1 Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth.
100:2 Worship the LORD with gladness; come into his presence with singing.
100:3 Know that the LORD is God. It is he that made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
100:4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.
100:5 For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

ABUNDANT HEALTH

Crunchy Cancer Fighters
He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate—bringing forth food from the earth. Psalm 104:14 (NIV)

When Mom said, “Eat your broccoli,” she was on to something. Broccoli is part of the one vegetable family you can never get enough of—cruciferous vegetables. They contain powerful detoxifying chemicals. Kale, collards, broccolini, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and bok choy contain glucosinolates that prevent cancer and support your health. So just like your mom, we recommend filling up!

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

God of grace and mercy, this day we offer ourselves, our tithes, and our offerings to you. Our giving is only the beginning of how we might honor you with gratitude. We give joyfully, knowing instead that grace and love are ours to be claimed in Jesus Christ. Amen. (Luke 18:1-8)
