PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION

Boundless Shaper of people, you are before us
and behind us, surrounding us with your love,
and fashioning all of creation in the depths of your heart.
With every thought, with every song, and with every prayer,
pour into us your grace, peace and wisdom;
turn these fragile, earthen vessels of our lives,
into the Spirit-filled body of Christ. AMEN.

PSALM 1

1:1 Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers;
1:2 but their delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law they meditate day and night.
1:3 They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper.
1:4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
1:5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
1:6 for the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

DAILY READINGS

ABUNDANT HEALTH

Exercise You Will Love
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22 (NIV)

Despite all the research surrounding the benefits of regular exercise, the only one that will make a difference is the program you do consistently. Once you find movement you enjoy, doing that type of exercise (or play) will help you look and feel younger, ramp up a sluggish metabolism, reduce and manage your weight, boost your energy, enhance creativity and productivity, increase cardiovascular endurance, improve muscular tone and strength, enhance sleep, reverse heart disease and high blood pressure and diabetes, reduce stress, and bring joy and youthfulness back to your life.

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

God of mercy and grace, you see us for the imperfect vessels we are. Our worship is imperfect; our service is imperfect; our compassion for others is imperfect. Yet your love and patience is boundless! We bring our gifts to your altar and pray that in the loving hands of the Potter they might be made beautiful, reshaping the world in beauty and perfect love. In Christ, we pray. Amen. (Jeremiah 18:1-11)
