Unalaska United Methodist Church is a mission church in the USA with the Advance number 931855. We are looking for 100 people and congregations to be affiliated members of our community outreach programs. By pledging support of 10 dollars each week, 100 partners can fully fund our work in the Aleutian Islands.
Online Ministry is back from the summer. School begins 08/19/2019 in Unalaska and the travel season is ending. Matt finished Local Pastor Licensing School at Iliff School of Theology in Denver Colorado.
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
Lord God, whose power and mercy have extended to all ends of creation, pour your love on us this day that we might be healed and be made ready to serve you by serving others in this world that you have created. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. AMEN.
Psalm 71:1-6
71:1 In you, O LORD, I take refuge; let me never be put to shame.
71:2 In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; incline your ear to me and save me.
71:3 Be to me a rock of refuge, a strong fortress, to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.
71:4 Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and cruel.
71:5 For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O LORD, from my youth.
71:6 Upon you I have leaned from my birth; it was you who took me from my mother's womb. My praise is continually of you.

Facing Failure
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 (NLT)
Failure does not automatically grow your character. Failure only builds your character when you respond to it correctly, when you learn from it, when you grow from it, when you say, “What didn’t work here, and what can I change?” When you think about failure and setbacks like this, your heart softens. Then you can bolster your next steps off what you learned.

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
Mighty and gentle God, may these gifts we dedicate be used to bring light and hope to sisters and brothers we haven’t met yet. May our arms and legs be used to take that hope out into the world this day, and may our words and our prayers convey that love to those we meet. In the name of Christ, our Redeemer, we pray. Amen. Jeremiah 1:4-10
