PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
Jesus Christ poured out blessings in his teachings that we might be made whole and be in good and faithful service to you by serving your world. Open our hearts and spirits, Lord, to faithful ministries in which we may take part. Let us take the extra steps into the wondrous mission to which you have called. Heal, restore, and prepare us for service. For we ask this in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
Psalm 34:15-22
34:15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry.
34:16 The face of the LORD is against evildoers, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
34:17 When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears, and rescues them from all their troubles.
34:18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.
34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD rescues them from them all.
34:20 He keeps all their bones; not one of them will be broken.
34:21 Evil brings death to the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
34:22 The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.

Facing Failure
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 (NLT)
Failure does not automatically grow your character. Failure only builds your character when you respond to it correctly, when you learn from it, when you grow from it, when you say, “What didn’t work here, and what can I change?” When you think about failure and setbacks like this, your heart softens. Then you can bolster your next steps off what you learned.

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
Generous and loving God, you give and give to us and hold nothing back. In response, we often give meekly, worrying whether we will have enough to meet our needs and wants and falling short in our ability to trust in you. Help us to live more wisely and to give more freely, fully aware of your providence and trustworthiness and more in tune with your desires for our lives. In Christ, we pray. Amen.
