Online Ministry for the Week 06/05 - 06/11 2017

Eternal God, your Spirit moved on the waters— and there was light, your first creation. your Spirit moved on the water of our baptism— and again, there was light in our souls and hearts. Let your holy light shine on us today, as we remember your creation and our special part in it. Amen.

From The Book of Life

Psalm 8

8:1 O LORD, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.
8:2 Out of the mouths of babes and infants you have founded a bulwark because of your foes, to silence the enemy and the avenger.
8:3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established;
8:4 what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?
8:5 Yet you have made them a little lower than God, and crowned them with glory and honor.
8:6 You have given them dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under their feet,
8:7 all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,
8:8 the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
8:9 O LORD, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Mindful Eating
So eat your meals heartily, not worrying about what others say about you—you’re eating to God’s glory, after all, not to please them. 1 Corinthians 10:31 (The Message)

Try a new eating technique today. Chew slowly. Eating is a sacred wonderful experience that can connect you to your senses, your body, and the extraordinary flavors in real food. Slow, conscious eating will allow you to really taste your food and allow your body to register that it is actually full.

God of love and peace, you created the vast universe! Everything you made is good and you put that goodness in all people. Through Christ your Son, you redeemed the world from human disobedience. Open our eyes to see the reflection of your image in each person. By your Spirit, inspire us to contribute to the flourishing of people, creatures, and the environment that you made to be very good indeed. We pray through our faithful Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
