Online Ministry for the Week 02/20 - 02/26 2017

O God, who before the passion of your only-begotten Son revealed his glory upon the holy mountain: Grant to us that we, beholding by faith the light of his countenance, may be strengthened to bear our cross, and be changed into his likeness from glory to glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

From The Book of Life

Psalm 2

2:1 Why do the nations conspire, and the peoples plot in vain?

2:2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and his anointed, saying,

2:3 "Let us burst their bonds asunder, and cast their cords from us."

2:4 He who sits in the heavens laughs; the LORD has them in derision.

2:5 Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying,

2:6 "I have set my king on Zion, my holy hill."

2:7 I will tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to me, "You are my son; today I have begotten you.

2:8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession.

2:9 You shall break them with a rod of iron, and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel."

2:10 Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth.

2:11 Serve the LORD with fear, with trembling kiss his feet, or he will be angry, and you will perish in the way; for his wrath is quickly kindled. Happy are all who take refuge in him.

Support Group
We are in this struggle together. Philippians 1:30 (NLT)

When we support each other, we increase one another’s potential in every area of life. In fact, the word support carries the idea of strengthening one another—to help one another become more capable of facing the challenges of living for Christ and the challenges of health.

When you connect with a loving community of friends, you will be better able to cope with things such as fatigue, fear, frustration, and failure. You will be better able to handle depression and despair and, most important, not have to walk through them alone. As Philippians 1:30 tells us, “We are in this fight together” (NLT).

Majestic God, your glory is far greater than we can describe! We praise and worship you. Thank you for sending your Son Jesus to reveal the light of your will. Please help us to listen closely to your Word and Spirit. Soften our hearts so that our church’s witness may contribute to more people drawing near to you in faith. We commit ourselves anew to your service through our gifts and offerings. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
