ABUNDANT HEALTH
Crunchy Cancer Fighters
He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate—bringing forth food from the earth. Psalm 104:14 (NIV)
When
Mom said, “Eat your broccoli,” she was on to something. Broccoli is
part of the one vegetable family you can never get enough of—cruciferous
vegetables. They contain powerful detoxifying chemicals. Kale,
collards, broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and bok
choy contain glucosinolates that prevent cancer and support your health.
So just like your mom, we recommend filling up!

NIV DAILY
Psalm 66:18
Why are some prayers not answered?Generally, God answers every prayer—although sometimes he says no. This verse gives the only exception to that rule: When we harbor sin in our hearts, God withholds his answer until we first give up that “cherished” sin (compare a similar teaching in Isaiah 59:1–2 and 1 Peter 3:7).
As you search for the truth about God, understand that it’s best to deal with the subject of sin before you deal with the subject of prayer. When you ask God to forgive you for the things you’ve done, your sin will no longer be a barrier in your relationship with him. If you are already a believer, don’t cherish things God despises. A relationship with God is too valuable to short-circuit on something that can only hurt you.
