Online Ministry for the Week 0115 - 0121 2017

PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION

O God, you are our light and our salvation. Living in your presence, we have nothing to fear. Open our hearts to your word this day. As we hear the story of the call of the first disciples, make us ready to follow Jesus on whatever path he leads us. Cast aside our fears and doubts, and teach us to trust wholly in you. For we ask this in Jesus’ Name, AMEN.

Psalm 62:5-12

62:5 For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him.
62:6 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
62:7 On God rests my deliverance and my honor; my mighty rock, my refuge is in God.
62:8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah
62:9 Those of low estate are but a breath, those of high estate are a delusion; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath.
62:10 Put no confidence in extortion, and set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
62:11 Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God,
62:12 and steadfast love belongs to you, O Lord. For you repay to all according to their work.

ABUNDANT HEALTH

Food Is Medicine
Dear friends, let's make a clean break with everything that defiles or distracts us, both within and without. Let's make our entire lives fit and holy temples for the worship of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1 (The Message)

Food has the power to heal us. It is the most potent tool we have to help prevent and treat many of our chronic diseases. All calories are not created equally. There are healing calories and disease-causing calories. Which ones are you feeding your body?

—Dr. Mark Hyman

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

Lord God, our hope, you are the trustworthy guide of all your people. We are glad to be in relationship with you. Let us remember that you are the source and goal of our lives. Help us to turn away from the empty promises of advertising and to live in the fullness of your gospel. Send your Holy Spirit to bring perspective on our daily actions as we work for your Kingdom. Amen.
